Lift Every Voice by: Nia Webb

This article was very moving for me especially since I relate to it in terms of the many struggles faced with black woman. I appreciate Marian Anderson and Florence Price for being strong and having perseverance in the music industry and insuring that their voices were heard as African American performers. Before reading this article I was blind to the names Marian Anderson and Florence Price but I will remember them for their actions of making sure that black women stand out and continue to be strong fighters in all they do. They have been a part of paving the way for African American women to continue to shine and never give up in situations of adversity and unequal opportunity.
