Mariah Carey will go down in history as one of the best vocals of all time from her beautiful ballads to her insane whistle note. Mariah Carey was born in Huntington, Long Land on March 27, 1970. Her father was an aeronautical engineer and her mother was an opera singer and a voice coach. She had two siblings an older brother and sister, Morgan and Alison. At a young age, her mother could tell she had singing talents like her and ending up giving her singing lessons. Mariah can sing within five octaves. After she graduated from her High school, Harborfields she ended up moving to Manhattan where she worked and focused on her music.  Some of Mariah Carey’s musical influences were legends such as Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder.
At the young age of eighteen years old Mariah Carey signed with Columbia Records and released her first album “ Vision of Love” that included four number-one singles. She was signed immediately once Tommy Mottola the president of Columbia Records first heard her demo tape that she gave him at a party. The lead singles off her first album included “Vision of Love”,” I Don’t Want To Cry”  “Love Takes Time”, and  “Some Day”. Her second album was released in 1992 and the title track ended up becoming her number one single. On “Emotions” she had hits like “Can’t Let Go” and “Make it happen”. Her third album which was released a year later in 1993 titled “Music Box” with hits like “Hero”. In 1994, a year later again she dropped an album but it was a Christmas album titled simply, “ Merry Christmas”. Again a year later she dropped “Daydream” which included one of her most popular songs, “Fantasy”.
One of the most loved albums was “Butterfly” which touched more of the hip-hop and R&B field. Out of “Butterfly” Mariah Carey had composited eleven songs! In her twelfth album, “Honey” which where she had Sean Combs produce that album and had an Academy Award-nominated song with also the legendary Whitney Houston. Carey’s tenth album, “The Emancipation of Mimi” was a best-selling album in 2005 where she had her iconic song ‘Touch My Body”.

She released many albums after “The Emancipation of Mimi” such as “Imperfect Angel”(2009), Merry Christmas II You” (2010), and “Me Mariah..The Elusive Chanteuse” (2014). In 2018, she released the album “Caution” which had many mentions of possibly being the album of the year. Mariah released a memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey” where she shares all her triumphs and traumas which came with a released thirty-two track album “The Rarities”.
In 2004 Mariah Carey was involved with P.Diddy’s organization called The Citizen Change which had the catchphrase “Vote or Die”. Which urged fans and citizens to vote in the elections and the impact it has. Recently, in 2020 she has reposted the same iconic vote or die picture of herself urging fans and citizens again the importance of this upcoming election.

Throughout Mariah Carey’s career, she has been no strange to winning awards. She has won 337 awards and was nominated 377 times! Mariah has won five Grammys, nineteen world music awards, ten American music awards, fifteen Billboard Music Awards and so much more.

She during the duration of her career so far has had nineteen number 1 hit songs and more than 200 million records sold. She is the third best-selling female artist of all time. She has one of the most recognizable Christmas songs “All I want for Christmas is You” which has global sales of over 16 million and is the 11th best selling single of all time. “All I want for Christmas” reportedly has earned over 60 million dollars in royalties. She will go down as one of the most influential and talented singers of her time and she is not even finished yet.
