Shirley Caesar is a contemporary gospel artist. She began singing in a gospel group called the Caravans in the lat 50’s and early 60’s. After singing with the group she went solo and has released over 40 albums. She has also been a part of 3 gospel musicals. She is not only an artist, but also a pastor of her own church. She has been nominated and won many awards for her contributions to gospel music.
