A little Recap on Funk music
It is a genre of music that is known for its upbeat tune, and the dance moves that come along with the tone of the music. Funk music, in fact, is a combination of soul, jazz, blues, and R&B. Funk music can sometimes be confused with bebop Jazz because of its fast pace, and the similar chords found in both genres of music.
Funk music originated in the African American community in the 1960s. Funk music originated in New Orleans, Louisiana. Funk music was used during many protest movements, and also a platform after the Civil Rights Movement. It described the daily oppression that people of the African American community were facing.
EARTH, WIND & FIRE
Earth, Wind, and Fire were founded in Chicago by Maurice White in 1970. The members of this band included Maurice White, Phillip Bailey, Verdine White, Larry Dun, and Al Kay. During their concerts, they were always known for their falsetto singers and the deeper vocals in the group. This was because they had such a big contrast between the two tones of voices.
