Hi, my name is Alyssa McCants. I am a sophomore, economics major with a minor in management and organization. I am from White Plains, NY in Westchester County which is located near The Bronx.
My mindset for this year is to see improvement academically and socially. I want to exceed all the standards I set for myself academically. I also want to improve my network and the people I interact with.
My experience with music is very positive. I grew up listening to hip-hop and R&B in my household. Hip-hop and R&B is deeply rooted in my family. I use music in my everyday life. It improves my mood and helps me to focus. I am looking forward to learning more about music in the African-American culture in this class.
