Time to Jazz

Jazz music developed in New Orleans, Louisiana in the early 20th century. The population of the city was the most diverse if the South, with indiviuals being roots in African, French, Italian, German, Mexican, American Indian, Carribean, and English. Jazz emerged from the blending of multiple genres such as ragtime and blues.

Jazz is used to express your emotions whether it be joy or pain. Jazz was also used by people who were suffering from mistreatment. In the beginning, Jazz was just used for dancing, but now there are wide many different types of jazz.  Jazz uses call-and-response patterns between the instrument and the voice. The variety ranges from swing, hard bop, and classical.
