The concert that I chose to attend was the Spelman-Morehouse glee club Christmas Carol which was amazing. Saturday nights show was at Spelman College at 7:30pm. There were several instruments used throughout the concert such as the organ, drums, piano, and trumpet. Traditional Negro Spirituals, traditional Christmas songs and Gospel were all incorporated in this amazing concert. I enjoyed listening to the classic Christmas songs and then being exposed to songs of different cultures, such as Ave Maria, which Spelman College Glee Club performed, and Betelehemu, which Morehouse College Glee Club performed. The transitions were very smooth and allowed the audience to be a part of the performance with them. The soloist for “A King is Born” was really good and Imani’s solo was the star of the show. This was my first year attending and I will definitely go back next year.
