Techno: A form of dance music that emerged in Detroit in the early to mid-1980s that primarily features electronic instruments, including drum machines, multitrack mixers, computers, and samples.

House of Music: A style of electronic music originating in gay Black clubs in Chicago in the 1980s.

Rave: A large scale, a night party featuring electronic dance music, primarily house and techno.

Bohemian: A person who lives and acts without regard fro conventional rules and practices.

Cabaret: In Detroit, a type of social gathering usually associated with a community of unionized workers or other specifically specialized group.

Krautrock: Electronic music played by European groups of the 1980s, particularly German groups such as Kraftwerk, which featured heavy use of drum machines.
