Techno is a genre of music which emerged during the 80s through the rise of computers. It is a form of dance music created electronically using software that mimics instruments and usually has little to no lyrics. Techno originated in Detroit in the mid to late 1980s. The Bellville Three is the all Black group credited with inventing Detroit Techno. The group is comprised of three producers, Juan Atkins, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson, who have known each other since high school.
