Hello! I’m Kerrington Stratton, a passionate student of music and science and a devoted fan of lyrical geniuses. This space is a reflection of my journey, my inspirations, and my aspirations. I invite you to explore my page to see my vision of the future and a look into my life!
I am from Atlanta, Georgia. I grew up with a deep passion for music and science. Throughout my adolencesence, I explored all different types of music as I was in choir for my grade school and chosen for honors choir. Music has taken me all over the world. For example, I have sung in Vienna, Prague, and Budapest with my choir! It is a core part of me in addition to my love of science.
I am currently pursuing a Health Science degree where I’m honing my skills and knowledge in medical sciences to prepare me to become a doctor. My love for music was not just limited to listening but in college, my aspirations has put music on to the back burner.
This is my choir at the Haydn Hall, Esterhazy Palace, Eisenstadt. The Esterhazy Palace is about a few miles south of Vienna. My director, Steven Rotz wanted us to perform to hear the acoustics of this great hall. Our whole tour of Europe is on the WA Choir Youtube Channel.
My passions and hobbies encompass a diverse range of interests, including a deep fondness for animals, particularly French Bulldogs, a fervor for traveling, and a commitment to advocacy. My journey toward advocacy, especially in women’s health, was profoundly influenced by the remarkable example set by my mother.
As a dedicated city councilwoman for South Fulton, my mother instilled in me the values of community engagement and social responsibility from an early age. Her unwavering dedication to advocating for crucial societal issues inspired me deeply. Accompanying her to various community advocacy events exposed me to the importance of grassroots efforts and ignited my passion for effecting positive change.
At the age of 15, I participated in my inaugural march addressing critical issues of gun violence and women’s health. This experience served as a catalyst, propelling me to delve deeper into these pressing matters. My commitment to women’s health and social advocacy continues to evolve and drive my aspirations. I aim to combine my passion for activism with my academic pursuits, contributing meaningfully to the betterment of communities and advocating for accessible healthcare and resources, particularly for underserved populations. My goal is to own a clinic to provide free gynecologic care to those in need.
I enjoy all different genres of music but Hip Hop is my favorite. Recently, I started to get into Black country music such as Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Shaboozey. It was so interesting to me to see Black people take over a genre that is usually White at a mainstream level.
My favorite artist is Megan thee Stallion. Megan Thee Stallion, popularly known as “Hot Girl Meg,” has had a significant impact on my musical journey. Her daring lyrics, electrifying performances, and unashamed confidence have helped her become a prominent performer in the music industry. Megan has continuously pushed boundaries and reinvented what it means to be a forceful voice in hip-hop, from her humble beginnings as an underground rapper to her climb to global superstardom. I first experienced her talent in 2019 when she was performing at Alabama State Homecoming. She was electrifying and unreal. Even in 2019, this woman had so much star power. She was meant to be a superstar.
Recently, I saw her in Atlanta in June. She has grown so much but continued to still be the same girl that she is. Megan’s music connects with me on multiple levels. Her songs are more than just catchy; they’re anthems to empowerment, independence, and resilience. Megan’s artistry, whether in the form of hard-hitting verses or catchy choruses, serves as a continual reminder to stay true to myself and follow my ambitions with unshakable confidence.
Her mixtape “Tina Snow” was a defining moment, introducing the world to her alter ego and setting the stage for her future success. The mixtape was Trina and Lil Kim meets Pimp C. She shook the world with her hard-hitting verses and catchy hooks, and her confidence.
Megan Thee Stallion isn’t just my favorite artist—she’s a source of inspiration that fuels my own creativity and ambitions. I’m excited to share my admiration for her with you through this section of my website.
This is a video of me seeing her in June of 2024. She is performing Cobra. Cobra is one of her more dark songs specifically talking about her losing her confidence from her partner cheating on her, to losing her mother, and the shooting that she experienced. Cobra shows that she is a human and has struggles everyday.
This is my everyday music playlist. The playlist is a rap playlist with extreme diversity. Because I am an Atlanta girlie, you will hear Young Thug, Gunna, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Future, and Nudy. In addition to the new Atlanta sound, we have the new heavy hitters of female rap such as Latto, Megan thee Stallion, Monaleo, and Glorilla.
