Ragtime started from 1896-1920’s it was the time to be alive and celebrate with music all the time. Ragtime was a very successful genre of music because the average person could play it. This increased morale and popularity of ragtime because if was for anybody! Most people will have pianos in their homes and that was an essential part of ragtime music. Not only that but it brought in monetary benefits. With the average person being able to play this music they would also monetize the music and create and sell sheet music. With its slow tones but not spiritual music very one was able to enjoy this genre.
