Musical Theater

Musical theater came about in the 1920’s. It was more popular up north particularly New York City. It was a way for black artists to show their skills of acting and singing. Many musicals being held on broadway. Some known black musicals are ‘The Wiz”, “Dreamgirls”, and “A Raisin in the Sun”. In the 20th century many of these musicals are being reacted in a modern way but still including the black movement it had attached.
