Dirty Blues
The Blues genre emerged during the 20th century when people of color were experiencing a-lot of pain and sorrow. Many artists used Blues as an outlet for their pain. Most people believe that the Blues originated in southern states such as Mississippi. Artists such as Bessie Smith, W.C. Handy, and Muddy Waters made blues what it is today and also inspired many artists who are popular today such as Aretha Franklin. Some of the most popular instruments used in this genre of music are guitars, pianos and harmonicas.
