The South Got Some To Say

Southern Rap covers cities like Memphis,Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans, and more southern cities. Southern Rap took off in the 1980s and holds characteristics like chop and screwed, “trap music”, bounce music, and phonk influences. 

Atlanta Rap has roots imbedded in trap rap. Many Artists payed their dues in this category and the king of trap is referred to as stage name “TI” or Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. Tip is a rapper, singer, actor, songwriter, producer, entrepreneur, record executive, and author. He signed his first major-label record deal in 1999 with Arista subsidiary LaFace.

Outkast:

You can not mention southern hip hop or Atlanta hip hop without mentioning  OutKast. First known together as “Two Shades Deep”. Outkast is an hip hop duo formed in 1992 in East Point, Georgia. The group is composed of Atlanta-based rappers André “André 3000” Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton.
