I read “Folk: The Beginning” by Alexis Moreland on blackmusicscholar.com. It only took me a few minutes to read it, which was kind of disappointing. It had some good information, but it seemed like it was shorter than some of the other articles on the site. It just kind of threw random facts at me, and I guess I was expecting it to flow better. It also had a few typos and grammatical errors, which took away from the overall quality of the article. Towards the end, it seemed like it was all over the place, as if the author was in a rush to finish. Overall it wasn’t terrible, I think I was just expecting better.
