“Lift Every Voice: Marian Anderson, Florence B. Price And The Sound of Black Sisterhood” by Alisha Lola Jones was a masterpiece in my words. The article started off with “When will we listen to black women?”, right then and there I knew this article would be powerful. Jones acknowledges Anderson and Price’s many accolades and recent accomplishments of today’s women and black women. Movements are a prevalent era these days and associate themselves with historical vessels such as Anderson and Price. Jones pays tribute to the significance in the collaboration between Anderson and Price such as My Soul Is Anchored in the Lord, etc. There was so much said in this article that explains these two important women and many other black women and black movements that were not acknowledge but are recognized today. Black women are a sisterhood and to believe that you have to admit to the intersection of identity in the United States.
