DEANTE' VAN HITCHCOCK

Background

Coming from Riverdale, GA; Deante’ Hitchcock has always had an ear for music, born in 1993 he grew up hearing the beef between the East and West coast rappers. He was among the generation that made rap and hip-pop apart of the mainstream music culture.  At age 12 he started rapping with some of his fellow middle schoolers. He attended Georgia Southern Universtiy before dropping out in his junior year to follow his dreams. As a child he always favored rap, some of his influnces include: 2Pac, Andre 300, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne. As he music made its way to the  mainstream he is compared to artist like T.I and J. Cole, with a lyrical sound that can capture a fan from almost every genre, Deante’ Hitchcock  is versatile.

Who is Deante' Hitchcock?

Deante’ Hitchcock has been working towards everything he is today and continues to prove that his work is nowhere near done. In 2012 he released his debut mixtape, 19 Summers from there came a single on SoundCloud with the name Wishful Thinking in 2015. This combined with freestyle clips uploaded to social media platforms, Hitchcock was able to gain traction and earn credibility from surrounding; artists, radio personel and listeners. He has  the ability to   showcase adaptability throughout his albums and EPs. Hitchcock’s most recent album BETTER he provides his listens with a variation of lyrical (sending a message) and his soft side (sharing feelings) all while having upbeat tracks with infectious hooks and instrumentals.

On a more personal level: I was introduced to Deante’ Hitchcock in 2019 by a friend. I had asked for new artist to listen to and for me, Hitchcock sounded almost identical to my favortie artist, J. Cole, and from there I could not take my headphones off. I took myself through his entire discogrpahy and to say I enjoyed it would be an understatement.  To the left is one of my personal favorties by Hitchcock from his first EP,  So Much for Good Luck.
