The Tabernacle Choir at Temple square is a well known choir in Salt Lake City, Utah with over 300 volunteer singers. The choir received a Grammy and host weekly radio and TV broadcast. They are currently on a world tour, spreading light and joy to audiences everywhere.
On September eleventh 2024, at the State Farm Arena it was a great pleasure that the Tabernacle Choir performed with Spelman College and Morehouse College. Dr. David E. Morrow is the director of the Morehouse College Glee Club and a professor of music at Morehouse College. Composer, musician, and clinician Dr. Kevin Johnson is the director of the Spelman College Glee Club and professor of music at Spelman College. Both conductors did an amazing job in guiding each choir's performance ensuring that the singers stay in tune. My favorite piece that the Morehouse College Glee club performed was “I Ain’t Got Weary Yet” it was inspiring and I truly felt their powerful energy. Although attending Spelman College, I must say their performance was truly breathtaking, sending chills through my body. I find it difficult to choose between "Wade In The Water" and the renowned "A Choice To Change The World" as my favorite. Although I am not a member of the Glee Club, it was wonderful to see my sisters perform alongside such an incredible choir. I know it was an unforgettable experience for them. As the concert came to a close, even more breathtaking moments unfolded. Kristin Chenoweth's rendition of "Angels Among Us" was particularly moving. From that point on, it felt as though I was right there in the State Farm Arena, experiencing the performance firsthand through my screen. When the song ended, I found myself clapping as if I were part of the live audience. The music filled me with an overwhelming sense of faith and love, leaving me both uplifted and deeply moved. It's safe to say that I am now an avid subscriber of the Tabernacle Choir.
