The Blues in America
Introduction
The blues genre originated in the United States after the Civil War. Blues music was vastly influenced by the African Americans that lived in the South.
Billie Holiday, Ray Charles and BB King
“Fine and Mellow” created by Billie Holiday was a song highlighting the bad treatment woman received from the hand of a man. I personally like the melody in the song.
“Blues In The Night” created by Ray Charles talking about how his mom was right about there being nothing but “blues in the night”.
“Blues For A Dog” created by BB King was a blues song expressing how women make you “stupid” whereas dogs will always be by your side.
