All About Techno

All About Techno

Techno, or Detroit techno originated in the midwest, specifically in Detroit, Michigan in the 1980s. It was mainly started by three black men whose names were Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, and Derrick May. They called themselves the Belleville 3!

Techno music is exactly  means exactly what you probably think it means. It’s made by computer software, or in simpler terms, its music made with technology. Creations with this music have not only allowed a sound that mimics real instruments, but new elements can be created as well. This genre has made stars out of DJs because of the interesting sounds they can  make. It did not gain popularity in the U.S. like it did in the United Kingdom, but once it did, it spread pretty well. Techno music has given birth  to another genre called EDM, or electronic dance music. Entire music festivals  have centered around techno music and they are recognized around the world. One popular DJ, David Guetta is French but he has worked with artists from pop to hip hop, and then to R&B. This shows how techno has a place in a lot of other genres and not just its own.
