A Review of Folk Music

By: Tatyanna Tyger

What I enjoyed most about the African American Folk Music article is the way the author started with the origin of folk music. How it came about and why it is so popular in the African American community. After reading this article I have gained more knowledge on folk music and how powerful it was in uplifting our ancestors into hope of freedom one day. I have learned that there are multiple elements in the genre which are sang in various ways but all bringing encouragement to the black community.
