Disco music was developed in the 1970s in New York. Disco music included a combination of soul, funk, Motown and even salsa and meringue musical styles.
Techno and House are different regional variations of post disco music. Techno music originated in Chicago in the early 1980s. House music originated originated in gay Black Clubs in the 1980s. Unlike Disco, these styes are very similar because they are both forms of electronic music. Some of the instruments used (specifically in Techno music) are drum machines, multitrack mixers, computers, and samplers.
All three types genres were meant for dancing in clubs.
